Optical Testing (optical test, optical tests)


A branch of testing that applies to validation of fiber optic cables, optical signals and fiber-optic communication systems and networks. The tools used for such testing include fiber connector inspectors, light sources, power meters, fiber detectors, fault locators, optical return loss testers, optical time-domain reflectometers, optical line mappers, polarization and dispersion analyzers as well as optical spectrum analyzers.
