OPAL-MD: Multi-die test station for the accurate, automated, fast and cost-effective testing of photonic integrated circuits (PIC) with traceable results. BA-4000-L2: combined layer-1 BER tester and Ethernet (L2) traffic analyzer for 800G DR4/FR4/LR4 and 1.6T optical engines, plus a powerful equalizer and channel simulator ideal for LPO testing. FTBx-88800 Series:  industry’s first compact, portable test solution for 800ZR, 400ZR and OpenZR+. 

Automated testing of photonic integrated circuits (PIC)

Complete electrical-to-optical transceiver testing (800G/1.6T)

  • 800G: FTBx-88800 compact, portable tester provides support for both form factors, QSFP-DD and OSFP, on a single solution, no need to change or swap out equipment.
  • 400G: FTBx-88480 a compact, multiservice 400G tester built with 112G electrical lanes and EXFO’s modular Open Transceiver System (OTS) make it ready to test today’s transceivers while staying ready for tomorrow’s technologies.
  • Electrical NRZ/PAM4 BER: BA-4000 Bit Analyzer designed for the production floor, it leverages FEC simulation capabilities to provide powerful analysis for burst error. The newBA-4000-L2 adds more capabilities to the BA-4000 family; it’s a combined L1 BER tester and L2 traffic analyzer for 800G DR4/FR4/LR4 and 1.6T optical engines.

Active/passive components, including 800ZR technology

  • 800G: FTBx-88800 the industry’s first compact, portable tester for 800ZR, 400ZR and OpenZR+, provides support for both form factors, QSFP-DD and OSFP, on a single solution, no need to change or swap out equipment.
  • MEMS matrix optical switch: the MXS-9100 has been jointly developed with DiCon to provide fast protection switching at the fiber layer, automation of test sequences and instrument-grade performance. 

400G/800G and data center networks

We’ve got your transport network and data center testing needs covered—from inspection through MPO certification to 400G and 800G connections. 

  • Modular, dual-port 400G tester: FTBx-88480 supports industry-standard service activation tests (BERT, RFC 2544, EtherSAM) and allows technicians to test different rates (1G-400G), interfaces and transceiver types – all with a single platform. Add iOptics to efficiently evaluate the health of optical transceiver interfaces from 1G to 400G, including digital coherent optics (400ZR and OpenZR+). 
  • MPO optical loss test set (OLTS): the PXM/LXM OLTS is a tier-1 MPO-12 fiber certification power meter and light source kit with fastest loss and length measurement based on certification standards for single or multimode fibers. 
  • LAN/WAN access OTDR: the FTBx-720D is a construction OTDR for everyday field testing in any access network. With an intelligent Optical Link Mapper (iOLM) application for both singlemode and multimode testing, this is the most automated and intelligent troubleshooting tool for FTTA, LAN and data centers.
