May 2024 releases notes
FIP-500 firmware release 2403
Ability to store space-optimized multi-fiber captures
It is now possible to set the FIP-500 to save only the core and cladding and remove the contact zone. This can be useful to optimize the storage space on the unit, when performing a large number of inspections.
Possibility to deactivate the auto centering in live-video
There is now a new setting to deactivate auto-centering. This can be useful when inspecting non-standard optical fiber sizes such as POF (Plastic Optical Fiber).
Possibility to export high resolution images for reporting when no analysis is performed
When analysis is disabled, the FIP-500 will now save full resolution images of the connector endface. Those can be exported through FastReporter for generating reports.
Support for the newly added tips RFIDs
Newly released tips can now be auto-detected with the RFID SmarTip feature.
Support of transceiver with lenses
The FIP-500 now supports the inspection of transceivers with lenses, in addition to the existing fiber-stub interface.
