EXFO Receives 2015 Lightwave Innovation Award

EXFO scores an elite product rating for its 10M‑to‑100G multiservice test solution

As part of Lightwave magazine’s optical communications technology recognition program, an independent eleven-judge panel recognized the superb performance, flexibility, scalability and pricing of EXFO's powerful all-in-one multiservice solution comprised of the FTB-88100NGE Power Blazer combined with the FTB-2 Pro Platform and the EXFO TFv suite of test function virtualization offerings.

According to Lightwave, EXFO’s multiservice testing solution stood out for its ability to address both 40G/100G mass deployments and field upgrades, as well as lower-rate client service turn-ups. The solution was also praised for the wide range of technologies it covers, such as SONET/SDH, OTN and Ethernet.

EXFO’s multiservice testing solution also gained extra points for its capacity to support the functionalities covered under the EXFO TFv umbrella, namely FTB OnDemand time-based software licenses that enable carriers to test rates or standards on a specific module for a specific period of time.

Additional features that contributed to the tester’s elite 4.0 score include support for OTU1 to OTU4 and OC-3/STM-1 to OC-768/STM-256 bit-error-rate testing (BERT) with pass/fail status as well as10M-to-100G Ethernet turn-up: Y.1564 EtherSAM, RFC 2544 and Ether BERT with KPIs, including throughput, frame loss, packet jitter, latency and out-of-sequence. Finally, it offers EXFO’s unique CFP Health Check solution that automatically verifies that CFPs are functioning properly – it’s a CFP2-ready solution.
