CityFibre adopts EXFO Exchange for cloud-based testing of UK’s largest independent fibre only carrier-grade network

EXFO field testing helps network providers extend high-speed connectivity to rural areas

QUEBEC CITY, January 21, 2025 — EXFO, the communications industry’s test, monitoring, and analytics experts, today announced that CityFibre has deployed EXFO Exchange—a next-level solution for field testing—throughout its extensive fibre optic network that delivers connectivity to more than 3.8 million premises across the UK. CityFibre relies on EXFO Exchange to deliver cloud-based testing results of optical performance, helping ensure customers have access to the full gigabit speeds and high reliability provided by the CityFibre network.

CityFibre’s full fibre network rollout will reach at least a third of the UK market, serving more than 8 million premises.

CityFibre reports test jobs can be completed 4x faster due to automation delivered by the EXFO Exchange platform. The deployment follows signing of a five-year agreement between EXFO and CityFibre for EXFO Exchange to provide efficient management of test data and compliance, equipping field technicians and managers with insight for faster job completion and improved forward-looking operational compliance. Automated testing, improved collaboration, and comprehensive reporting are some of the benefits CityFibre has experienced using EXFO Exchange.
